A Short Conversation and Lasting Results

Another day,
I pointed toward the clock so God could see the time.
He laughed.
I showed God my pocket PC.
He smiled.
I told God I did not understand His timing.
He nodded.
I fussed.
He cried.
I finally decided to trust Him.
He held me.
Along the way,
Chris Maxwell

That about sums up my week...trying to do things my way and realizing that God has it all under control without my intervention. I could have saved myself alot of tears and sleepless nights if only I'd trusted Him with my troubles FIRST.
Isn't it so nice to know, that NOTHING really matters in the large scheme of things, except for working for God's purpose! And He is right there with us to keep us calmly moving forward!
Thanks Chris for sharing this. Today was a dark day and I was feeling sorry for myself.I always don't remember it's in his hands.Every year this date has been very hard.My Mother 48 years ago was shot and killed by my Father. The Lord has taken such good care of Me.Your words were what I needed to remember it.Thankyou for being The Lords tool.
I like those simple but honest prayers. I just don't pray enough.
how do we trust God? what does that look like? feel like?
what does it feel like to give IT ALLLLLLLL TO HIM!?
what does it look like/feel like to totally trust Him with EVERYTHING?!
Bethany,
It isn't always easy to trust God. I know the theology of it, the truth about it, and the need for it. But when minds worry and situations fall in strange directions, how do we trust God then? For me, I have to force my thoughts back to the truth: God knows best. Evaluate your assumptions and emotions. Journal your own thoughts and include Truth from God's word. As you focus on Truth, the normal fears and doubts and questions find their place. And God can become the One we trust.

most of us live under the illusion that we are in control (until something happens that shows us otherwise!) Unlike "control freaks," God's motives are pure and selfless. If we yield to Him, He WILL hold us and walk us through whatever this life serves us.
