So Much

Another Day Along the Way
Thursday, July 05, 2007

Another day,
So much can occur in a short amount of time. I glanced at my recent schedule. Here then there. Writing and speaking. Praying and hoping. Believing and doubting. Listening and learning and living. While observing the doing, this thought came to mind: In the mix of duties and tasks, we almost run out of time for life.

I frequently encourage us to hit pause. But how? How do we rest for a moment, relax for a portion of time, and receive a sip of a fresh spiritual encounter? While typing, riding, calling, watching, wanting, and paying, how can we find time to live?

Glance at your upcoming schedule. What plans own you? What events thrill you? What experiences draw you closer to God? Do any lure you away from Him?

As July's heat rushes us toward a summer's sudden end, let us be still. Breathing in the air, let us inhale and exhale fully aware of what matters most. Let us make changes if too much stuff is taking out too much of our lives.

And remember. So much can occur in a short amount of time.

Along the way,
Chris Maxwell

Hitting that 'pause' button is so difficult. Living life always seems to get in the way of really living life. Thanks for the reminder.

Chris, there's never enough time in the day! I definitely understand. It's hard to know what to let go when all is important, necessary and expected. Only God knows where to pull the plug. You have spoken the truth well. Jean

Yep, you are right. In a short amount of time so much can change. We make stupid decisions and ruin a lot of folks lives.
